Newport is a beautiful city and it’s not hard to see why it was once a summer destination for the wealthy. We can tell from all the mansions that is in this city. Now if you’re visiting in the summer going to one of the beaches in a must. Second beach is actually in Middletown but it is my choice the beaches, it has a lot of parking, changing and bathroom facilities and a Del’s lemonade truck to help you cool down in the summer heat. Other than spending a day laying in the sun there are great options to take a sail boat tour, do the Cliff walk and so much more.
A lot of places in also have great views and that includes some of the restaurants in the “Where to Eat in Newport” part of the cheat sheet. Of course there are many seafood places in Newport but there is a good variety. I always try to highlight places that are unique or have a creative menu and there are some great choices in this guide.
Accommodations in Newport can be pricey but I have given a couple options with different price ranges. You should definitely book early when you are planning a trip especially in peak season, during the summer.
